Cool Vintage Disneyland Souvenirs
Enchanted Tiki Room brochure from Matt's collection.
Matt Heinrichs, of Scrubbles fame, has started up a new Flickr group called Classic Disneyland Souvenirs. It features Disneyland souvenirs from 1955 to 1990, including maps, ticket books, guides, parking stubs, etc. Nothing from the other theme parks, and no photos. (For classic Disneyland photos, check out Vintage Disneyland.)
Right now, it's a modest collection (still very cool), but hopefully more people will join to share their nifty goodies from the magical park. One thing to realize, if you are not a Flickr member and you have not joined the group, you will not be able to see all the submissions because of several members being NIPSA'd by Flickr. To read more about what NIPSA is, check out Drawn! (read here and here) and this discussion. It's a crazy Flickr issue, so I'm not going to get too far into it.
Anyway, check it out! It's Disneyland-tastic.

ReplyDeleteI remember the Tiki Room at Disney World when I was a kid. I remember it being so chock full of stuff with all the birds, songs, foliage...it was so busy! But I loved it.
ReplyDeleteNo problem, Matt! Looking forward to seeing what more you have!
ooooh ,love the tiki room. last summer ,we bought the Shag collector pins (I guess thats what they are called),and I turned them into X-mas ornaments. He really captured that vintage Disney feel.
