Get out there

A good day for a chalk drawing, don't you think?

  1. Ah, this is a very good metaphor for spring. In certain places people were really wishing some more sun and warmth, after so many months of staying indoors, darkness and cold.

    And very nice photo. I wonder: what happened next? No doubt, the girl must have done a nice work on the pavement.

  2. What is it about a chunky piece of chalk that makes me go crazy?? I immediately want to mark up everything in sight, and whittle the stick down to a crumb. I used to love taking different colored chalks and sketching all over the sidewalks and driveways! They should make another harmless, sketching material that's suitable for drawing on grass and trees, so you can mark up your whole backyard with art!!! Great photo, by the way!

    ...so you didn't like my last post, eh? Haha

  3. Chalk drawings rock. I think we should have chalk-drawing brigades that go throught he city early each morning and cover all the sidewalks with chalk drawings.

    PS, found you via Seth. Nice blog.

  4. Actually, it's been raining like cats and dogs for the last 3000 years here in SF. So it's a good day for...chalk paste I guess...

    {sigh}

  5. That is the best photo I've seen in a very long time. I just love to mark up our patio with the kids!

  7. I love this image, great composition, texture, and lighting...it really captues that child like spirit, where all that really matters today is your own little universe that you are creating with chalk.
