Sorry this was late in posting, but Ava is sick and whenever there's sickyness going on in a household, it throws everything off. Anyway, this drawing was done in mid-October of last year. We had given her a sketchbook for her to doodle and draw in and she filled that thing up with all these wonderful and fantastic characters -- some elaborate, some simple. I like this one, as she says that this is Ava with a flower, and the flower seems to be its own character, with eyes and a cute little smile. The scene is never complete without the ever-present sun, of course.
well, I just love this one. I love all of them. I guess that's to be expected (being ava's mom and all), but still. honestly, I just wanted to be the first one to post.
ReplyDeleteI love it!!! She has such a knack for faces! Such a happy drawinf. It made my Thursday as it always does...
ReplyDeleteWell, Andrea, you deserve to post first, considering that you carried Ava in your own body for 40 weeks, went through hours of labor and then had her pulled from you via C-section.....yes, I think you deserve it.
ReplyDeleteAnd James, I'm glad it makes your Thursday. Too bad I can't do Ava Monday and Ava Tuesday, Wednesday, etc....
Hey there. I'm somewhat new to your site, but am enjoying it quite a bit. I love Ava Thurs. I have been saving many of my 6 yr old daughter's drawings forever in the hopes that I would find something cool to do with them. Your site has given me hope and inspiration. Now if only I had a scanner, a digital camera, and any sense at all as to how to use those things when I get them (you see, I am a luddite finally coming out of the dark, and attempting to embrace the technology of the current century one step at a time ;-)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work. By the way, I like your illustrations as well.
Peace.
just wanted to say hello, i read your comment on lulu's world. it is a small world. i originally found your blog on the blogger home page under "blogs we have noticed". i agree with eejackson, your artwork is seriously some of my favorite. i own the marsill shirt with the japanese turntable blueprint on it. (i think that was you?) i work with reuben and mars ill toured with us when i was still road managing... i remember asking them who did their stuff because it was so dope. anyway it's cool to meet you through this mysterious world of blogging. i have a friend who is an artist/animator here in columbus, i will send him a link to your blog.
