My parents met the guy in charge of it all, he met at our place to describe the route to me, etc.

They then saw the stacks of papers I was to deliver and pretty much refused to let me deliver since they knew these young kids were being exploited. I recall seeing the stacks of paper on my first day out. No kidding, easily as high as me at 12 or 14 or whatever.

I also remember seeing stacks and piles of papers and flyers in the local ravines many times. The 'volume' delivery method was easily a flawed concept and many kids often ditched half the load. I guess they make phone checks today though.Chad Kerychukhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04801536029977275839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984824.post-87073418617970120772007-08-20T15:59:00.000-07:002007-08-20T15:59:00.000-07:00Holy Cow!!!It's incomprehensible to think we live ...Holy Cow!!!
It's incomprehensible to think we live in a world where the paperboy gets shot at.
Great, albeit scary story.Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08102950888265856546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984824.post-42608097082866393132007-08-20T10:49:00.000-07:002007-08-20T10:49:00.000-07:00I am farily certain no-one is shooting at the AJC ...I am farily certain no-one is shooting at the AJC carrier in my neighboorhood, but I will up the Christmas tip just out of sympathy to your story. After he got his stiches put in, Vegas brought us back to Primal and Doug said something like "oh no! Can he make the post this afternoon?" I think I said something like "he has blood and dirt in his hair and needs to go home!" but I was so shocked I can't exactly recall.
