And I remember when I showed it to
my wife when we were dating and she loved it too.
Go figureDrazenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06588169855921049801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984824.post-78883498430545528722007-09-06T11:14:00.000-07:002007-09-06T11:14:00.000-07:00Jon -- they are.Justin -- I know you do, but hey, ...Jon -- they are.

Justin -- I know you do, but hey, this seems to be a great fit so far.

Amanda -- I'm sure you know this, but just thought I'd say it: MIRROR MASK was written by Gaiman, but not directed by Henry Selick. It was directed by fellow Gaiman collaborator, Dave McKean. It showed great promise, but was very disappointing. I kinda liked the 3D in it, but it looked too cold, much like the rest of the film. I agree, however, that stop-motion for that film would've been a better choice.

Sparky -- that's very cool that you guys are moving down here! Let's definitely hook up when you get here.

There are several different McMenamins around town -- I've eaten at the pub/restaurant one right around the corner from LAIKA on NW 23rd -- good food there. The School in the NE section is very very cool. I highly recommend going there and checking out the soaking pool. Very nice. And movies, too? Gotta go. Very fun.Ward Jenkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05013085293679968596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984824.post-31946569351626412312007-09-06T10:14:00.000-07:002007-09-06T10:14:00.000-07:00Ok, I'm going to be an annoyingly frequent comment...Ok, I'm going to be an annoyingly frequent commenter on this post. Apologies, but I couldn't resist quoting from one of the articles you linked to:

"Truth is, Portland doesn't want to be Seattle, its highly caffeinated neighbor to the north. With less traffic, better public transportation and Mount Hood in its backyard, this self-styled City of Roses doesn't stand in anybody's shadow."

Sounds pretty good to me.D.J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00156358912885372218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984824.post-68776851254885531322007-09-06T08:48:00.000-07:002007-09-06T08:48:00.000-07:00We made the decision to move to Portland a few mon...We made the decision to move to Portland a few months ago (we actually get there in December) and I can't believe all the fantastic things we've been hearing lately. Every time I fire up my innernet browser there's something good about Portland. Our kids are jumping up and down already (hard to keep that going for three months, but somehow I'm sure they'll manage it).

VOLCANOES!!!! Volcanoes rock.

I just wanna get there before it gets *too* popular, knowhatimean?

Ward, have you been to McMenamins yet?
